I work at the intersection between political economy and public policy, applying economic approaches and methods to issues and topics that are relevant to public policy, such as regulatory/legislative complexity, business and government relationships, policy evaluation and representation/transparency. My research has been funded by the British Academy and the Leverhulme Trust and has been featured in several journals, such as the Journal of Political Economy, the American Journal of Political Science, Political Analysis and many others (e.g., Business and Society, ARPA, PSRM, JPART, PSJ, EJPR and JEPP). My research manuscript is published by Oxford University Press, whereas my textbooks are published with EE Publishing and SAGE (the latter is under contract and forthcoming in 2026).

I am an Associate Professor in Public Policy at the Department of Political Economy, King's College London (here is my KCL page). For the past five years, I have worked as Field Editor (European Public Policy) for the Journal of Public Policy (Cambridge University Press). I am also a fellow/lead in: Institutional Grammar Research Initiative (IGRI), Political Economics of Reforms, Institutional Complexity, and Legislative Evaluation Studies (PERICLES), and Computational Institutional Science Lab (CISL). From November 2016 to August 2018, I was a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Innocenzo Gasparini Institute for Economic Research (IGIER), Bocconi University. Prior to that, I did my PhD at UCL (awarded in February 2017), and studied at the LSE and the University of Trento.
